Friendly reminder that Izuku didn’t go charging into the fight with the slime monster until after he saw it had Katsuki

He was literally at his lowest point right then. Not one person in his life thought he could be a hero, and that day both Katsuki and All Might had made it clear to him that they thought it was impossible.

Izuku was horrified at his role in setting the slime monster free, that his own actions could cause harm to someone else, but he still didn’t go running into the fight until he saw it had Katsuki.

He knew his role. He knew it was the heroes job to save, not his. He stayed in his lane, observed, took notes, prepared himself to act, but he still never actually acted until he saw Katsuki in danger.

Only Katsuki’s safety would have driven him to do what he did. Yes, Izuku is heroic. Yes, he is hardwired to save others. But at his lowest point, no encouragement or validation or support from any corner, it was Katsuki being in danger that pushed Izuku to act when no one else would.

It had to be Kacchan.

Because it is.#And let me just say. I think it is the perfect adaptation. Somehow this film manages to be one of the best dystopia satires out there #While also being a genuine critique of capitalism and burocracy.#Plus the practical effects and set design were outstanding.#The 'romance' in this movie was definitely also a satire.#It is unbelievably wacky. I'm dead serious when I say this comic is beat for beat something that happens in the film #Guy who told this women *nothing* about the peril she's in form the government tells her he (legally) killed her.#She responds by saying “Care for a little necrophilia?” with NO ROMANTIC LEAD UP.#THE MUSIC SWELLS. HE TEARS OFF HIS JACKET AND DIVES INTO THE BED. SCENE END.#Jill Leyton has incredible range as a hot butch and hot femme. Was the line bizarre? Yes. She can pull it off though.#We paused and watched it back a few times. I wasn't intending to make a crossover this obscure but honestly...#It's...it's too good of a fit to pass up. underappreciated Nico detail that I like - he seems to be an angry crier! very frequently he's angry when he cries and he cries when he's extremely angry. very AuDHD of him. emotional regulation sucks my guy and he's just going through it.

something that i find so haunting about dps is that in every scene neil is so jumpy, he just can’t keep still — he’s either constantly jittering about, tapping his foot/moving his leg, and not keeping eye contact too long — and by the end, as he walks to his fathers office and then sits there, he’s completely still, completely resigned to his fate. it’s so clear that neil isn’t there anymore, we’re just watching a shell of a person who’s long gone.

#it makes me cry every time i think about it or watch it #specifically I’m thinking about that scene in the cave when he and todd look at eachother while charlie is talking to those girls #he’s so jumpy and in every scene he’s doing something — anything but keeping still #it’s like that’s the only way he can stay real and focused on the present and not his father #the only other times he’s still is when he’s with his father — at the beginning and before the play #neil perry #dead poets society

just look how much BRIGHTER Mob’s demeanor is once he has Ritsu safe with him. that is the biggest grin ive ever seen on that boy’s face he loves his little brother so damn much it’s incomprehensible
